2 PF 86 Pascal Feindouno He was 18 and had never scored a professional goal when he settled the last afternoon of the 1998-99 season, a 3-2 win at Paris Saint-Germain on 29 May that handed Bordeaux the championship. The 2002 Coupe de France with Lorient came next, then 34 goals in 138 games for Saint-Étienne, and 30 in 85 for Guinea, including four at the 2006 Nations Cup, one behind Eto'o, with a place in the team of the tournament. 3 CS 85 Cherif Souleymane TSG Neustrelitz, SC NeubrandenburgHe scored in both legs of the 1972 African Cup of Champions Clubs final, on 35 minutes in Conakry and 67 in Kampala, as Hafia beat Simba 7-4 to become the first Guinean club to win Africa. African Footballer of the Year in 1972, still Guinea's only winner, he added Champions Cups in 1975 and 1977 and went unbeaten through the 1976 Cup of Nations, where Guinea lost the title to Morocco by a single point. FC Köln, Stade RennaisSeven games into the 2023-24 Bundesliga season Guirassy had 13 goals, past the 11 Robert Lewandowski managed over the same stretch, and he finished the year on 28 in 28 matches. That total broke Mario Gómez's Stuttgart club record and left him second only to Harry Kane; joint top scorer in the 2024-25 Champions League with 13, twice in the Bundesliga Team of the Season, and 11 goals in 28 caps for Guinea. LensThe morning after his father died in Guinea he played anyway, scored the winner against West Ham at Anfield in October 1999, and dropped to his knees in tears in front of the Anfield Road end. Marseille had taken him to the 1999 UEFA Cup final, Liverpool's supporters voted him into the 100 Players Who Shook The Kop, and Guinea got 27 goals in 57 caps, three of them in the group stage of the 2004 Nations Cup. 6 PC 84 Papa Camara 42 caps · 6 goals · Hafia Football ClubBorn Naby Laye Moussa Camara and known to everyone as Papa, he was a dribbler who gave his whole career to Hafia and left the Conakry club with 532 appearances and 142 goals. He reached five African Cup of Champions Clubs finals and won three of them, in 1972, 1975 and 1977, and finished runner-up with Guinea at the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations, still the country's best showing. 7 PS 84 Petit Sory 36 caps · 12 goals · Hafia Football ClubConakry gave his name to a stadium in Nongo in 2021, four decades after he left Hafia, where he played from 1965 to 1981 and scored against Ethiopia at the 1976 Cup of Nations. Three African Champions Cups with Hafia, in 1972, 1975 and 1977, head his record, with a place in the 1976 Cup of Nations team of the tournament, third place in the 1972 African Footballer of the Year vote, and 36 caps for Guinea. 8 DB 82 Dianbobo Baldé 52 caps · Toulouse, CelticForty thousand Celtic fans picked Baldé as the club's first Player of the Year in 2003, the season the 1.96m centre-back played 12 of their 13 UEFA Cup ties on the road to the final in Seville. He won five Scottish league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups at Parkhead, lost that final 3-2 to Porto, and took 52 caps to four Africa Cup of Nations with Guinea. CB2000s

82 Ibrahima Traoré Hertha BSC II, FC AugsburgGuinea were losing to Nigeria on 8 October 2011 when Traoré struck in the twelfth minute of stoppage time, and the 2-2 draw that followed carried them to the next year's Africa Cup of Nations. He scored 8 goals for Guinea and played three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, in 2012, 2015 and 2019, after a German career that ran from a Hertha debut in December 2007 through Augsburg and Stuttgart to seven seasons at Borussia Mönchengladbach. 10 KD 82 Kaba Diawara 13 caps · 6 goals · Sporting Toulon Var, FC Girondins de BordeauxArsène Wenger gave him his Arsenal debut against Chelsea on 31 January 1999, and he was gone by the summer with twelve league games and not one goal. Bordeaux's 1998-99 French title heads the list, taken in the season he left them, along with beaten Coupe de la Ligue finals for Bordeaux and Paris Saint-Germain, eight goals in twenty-one Guinea caps, and the Guinea head coach's job from October 2021. 11 FK 81 François Kamano SC BastiaIn the 2021 Russian Cup final Kamano scored first, and Lokomotiv Moscow beat Krylia Sovetov 3-1 on 12 May, his four goals in the competition making him joint top scorer alongside Fyodor Smolov. That cup remains his one major medal, and the rest of the record reads 30 goals in 139 games for Bordeaux, back-to-back sixth-place finishes there, and 56 caps for Guinea across the 2015, 2019 and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. 12 AS 80 Abdoul Salam Sow MKE Ankaragücü, FC MartiguesSow's league career reads like a route map: Kortrijk, Ankaragücü, a Ligue 1 season at Martigues in 1995-96, then Jeonnam Dragons, Belenenses, Xanthi, Al-Gharafa and home to Hafia in Conakry. Guinea picked him for three Africa Cups, in 1994, 1998 and 2004, the last ending in a quarter-final defeat to Mali, and he played 17 World Cup qualifiers across four campaigns from 1994 to 2006. 80 Amadou Diawara FC Séquence de Dixinn, San Marino CalcioTwenty years old at the Etihad in October 2017, he placed the ball on the spot and scored Napoli's only goal of the night against Manchester City. The 2022 Europa Conference League with Roma leads his honours, followed by 43 Guinea caps since he chose Conakry over Italy in March 2018 and a place at the Paris Olympics as one of the overage players. 14 IB 80 Ismael Bangoura A 25-yard strike against Manchester United in Kyiv on 23 October 2007 was the pick of Bangoura's three Champions League goals that season, a year after 12 goals for Le Mans left him joint second in the Ligue 1 charts. He won the Ukrainian league in 2009 and the Super Cup in 2007, cost Rennes 11 million euros, and scored 13 goals in 52 caps for Guinea. ST2007–09

80 Kamil Zayatte BSC Young Boys, İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.Early in the second half against West Bromwich Albion on 25 October 2008, Zayatte met Dean Marney's corner on the volley for his first Hull City goal, in a 3-0 win during the club's debut Premier League season. Hull turned the loan permanent the following January for £2.5 million, matching their record fee, and he collected 44 Guinea caps with four goals across the 2008, 2012 and 2015 Africa Cups. 16 MC 80 Mady Camara OlympiacosHis last kick of extra time in the 2018 promotion playoff took Ajaccio past Le Havre to a shootout they won, and Olympiacos signed him that summer for about €2.5 million. Three Super League Greece titles followed between 2020 and 2022, with a Greek Cup, runner-up in the 2023 Europa League on loan at Roma, Guinean Footballer of the Year, and PAOK's player of the season in 2025. 17 MS 80 Momo Sylla 22 caps · 0 goals · St Johnstone, CelticSylla was voted St Johnstone's player of the year in 2000-01, his first season in Scotland, and Celtic paid 650,000 pounds for him that August. At Parkhead he won two Scottish league titles and two Scottish Cups, was part of the squad beaten by Porto in the 2003 UEFA Cup final, and played for Guinea between 1999 and 2007. LM1999–2007

18 IS 79 Issiaga Sylla Horoya AC, ToulouseToulouse gave Sylla his debut on 4 May 2013, pushed forward to left midfield in a 4-2 win over Lille, and he was still there ten years later with 194 league appearances behind him. No one has played more for Guinea: he is past 90 caps, went to the Africa Cups of 2015, 2019, 2021 and 2023, won Ligue 2 with Toulouse in 2021-22 and the Guinean championship with Horoya in 2011-12. 19 AR 78 Abdoul Razzagui Camara Stade Rennais, Vannes OCThree France youth teams had him before Guinea did, and his senior debut came straight into the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations on 24 January, a 1-0 defeat to Mali in Franceville. He won the Coupe Gambardella with Rennes in 2008, scored four goals in sixteen caps across the 2012 and 2015 tournaments, and stopped playing in September 2018, aged 28, on medical advice. LM2008–18

78 Aguibou Camara Lille OSCCamara scored on his professional debut for Lille, a Coupe de France tie against Dijon on 10 February 2021, then joined Olympiacos that summer and opened his account there against Ludogorets in Champions League qualifying, a club he would later join himself. He has won the Greek title in 2022 and the Bulgarian league, cup and Super Cup with Ludogorets, and holds 31 Guinea caps from the 2021 and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. SS2021–23

21 FP 78 Florentin Pogba In a friendly against Senegal in Paris on 5 February 2013, Mathias Pogba came off the bench for the last half hour and lined up next to his twin, Florentin, in Guinea's 1-1 draw. Florentin gathered 31 caps between 2010 and 2021, played at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, made 99 appearances for Saint-Étienne over six seasons, and won the US Open Cup and Campeones Cup with Atlanta United in 2019. 22 MC 78 Morlaye Cissé GSI Pontivy, CS Sedan ArdennesSix years separated his two Africa Cup of Nations, Egypt in 2006 and Gabon in 2012, and by the second he was playing club football at Gafsa in Tunisia after seasons at Sedan and in the French amateur divisions. Eighteen caps between 2004 and 2012, a quarter-final run at the 2006 tournament, and the Guinea under-23 job from September 2022, taking the side to fourth place in Morocco the following year. 78 Saidou Sow Sow was 18 when Saint-Étienne handed him a Ligue 1 debut against Lens on 3 October 2020, and a week later he set up Yady Bangoura's winner on his Guinea debut against Cape Verde. Club silverware has stayed out of reach so far, and the record reads 56 games for Saint-Étienne, a 2023 move to Strasbourg, and 28 caps covering the 2021 and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. CB2020–23

77 Ibrahima Sory Conté KAA Gent, S.V. Zulte WaregemConté wore number 13 on Guinea's team sheet at the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, a Lokeren defender halfway through four seasons in the Belgian first division that brought him 64 league appearances between 2001 and 2005. Guinea came second in their group and fell in the quarter-final to Mali, and he went home to Hafia in Conakry afterwards before closing out his career in France at Rodez and Tours. CB2001–05

25 NY 77 Naby Yattara RAAL La Louvière, FC SèteHe kept goal in all three of Guinea's group games at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, every one a 1-1 draw, and the tie with Mali was broken on 29 January by a draw of lots at the Hilton Malabo, where Guinea pulled ball number two. Sixty-one caps and four tournaments, 2008 through 2019, with the quarter-final in Equatorial Guinea his furthest, from a debut against Senegal in October 2007. GK2007–19

26 AK 76 Aly Keita Keita was in goal for the 4-1 Svenska Cupen final win over IFK Norrköping that gave Östersunds FK their first trophy in 2017, and he stayed a decade in Jämtland for 213 appearances. That cup carried the club into Europe, where they became the first Swedish side to clear a Europa League group before meeting Arsenal, and Keita added 24 Guinea caps across three Africa Cup of Nations squads. 27 IC 76 Ibrahima Cissé Standard Liège, KV MechelenRaised in Liège and capped through Belgium's youth ranks, Cissé accepted Guinea's invitation on 25 April 2018 and scored for them within six months, in a 2-0 qualifying win over Rwanda on 12 October. Twenty caps followed, along with the 2019 and 2021 Africa Cups, on top of a club career that ran from Standard Liège and Mechelen to Fulham in July 2017 and later Ural in Russia. CDM2017–21

76 Mohamed Aly Camara Hapoel Ra'anana A.F.C., BSC Young BoysPiqué is the name he answers to, taken from the Barcelona defender he grew up admiring, and he carried it through seven years at Young Boys and into the captaincy. Four Swiss championships between 2019 and 2023, two Swiss Cups, a domestic treble with Horoya in 2016 before he left Guinea, and 27 caps taking in the 2021 and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. RB2016–23

29 MC 76 Mohamed Camara OlympiacosHoroya handed the penalties to an 18-year-old centre-back against ZESCO United on 20 March 2016, and Camara put both away to win the CAF Champions League tie 2-0. He won four Swiss championships and two Swiss Cups at Young Boys, where he became club captain, after a Guinean league title and cup with Horoya, and has 27 caps from the 2021 and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. 30 OB 76 Ousmane Bangoura 7 caps · 5 goals · Chamois Niortais, Royal Charleroi S.C.Seven seasons at Niort made Bangoura a fixture in France's second division, 181 league games between 1997 and 2004 from a striker who stood 1.70 metres. He played at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations, where Guinea reached the quarter-finals, and spent two years in Belgium's top flight with Charleroi, before a stud caught his eye in a Chinese league match on 7 July 2006 and ended his career at 26. 76 Pa Konate 1 caps · Malmö FF, Östers IFBorn in Malmö in 1994, he played nine Champions League matches for the city's club in 2014-15, then declared for Guinea in 2019 after three senior caps for Sweden. Four Allsvenskan titles with Malmö in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017, the European Under-21 Championship with Sweden in 2015, and eight Guinea caps, with later seasons in Italy, Norway, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Finland. 32 PG 76 Pablo Ganet In Abidjan on 22 January 2024 he made it 2-0 against the host nation in the 73rd minute, and the 4-0 that followed left Ivory Coast the first AFCON hosts to concede four goals in a group match. The Málaga-born midfielder is past fifty caps for Equatorial Guinea, won the Moroccan Botola with Ittihad Tanger in 2017-18, and was in the squads that finished fourth at the 2015 Cup of Nations and reached the quarter-finals in 2021. 33 ID 75 Ibrahima Diakité At twenty, filling in at left back, he was named man of the match on 28 January 2024 as Guinea beat ten-man Equatorial Guinea through Mohamed Bayo's stoppage-time header and reached the Cup of Nations quarter-finals. No senior trophies yet: a Ligue 1 debut for Reims against Marseille in December 2021, a Guinea cap at eighteen, and a four-year Cercle Brugge deal signed in July 2024. RB2021–24
