Raised in Liège and capped through Belgium's youth ranks, Cissé accepted Guinea's invitation on 25 April 2018 and scored for them within six months, in a 2-0 qualifying win over Rwanda on 12 October. Twenty caps followed, along with the 2019 and 2021 Africa Cups, on top of a club career that ran from Standard Liège and Mechelen to Fulham in July 2017 and later Ural in Russia.
