86 Dwight Yorke Aston Villa, Manchester UnitedTrinidad and Tobago's first World Cup match ended goalless against Sweden in June 2006, and the 34-year-old captain, playing in front of his own back four, was named man of the match. The treble with Manchester United in 1999, 29 goals in all competitions that season and a share of the Premier League Golden Boot, the Intercontinental Cup, a League Cup with Aston Villa, an A-League title with Sydney FC, and 123 Premier League goals in total. 2 RL 84 Russell Latapy Associação Académica de Coimbra – O.A.F., HibernianEaster Road called him the Little Magician, and in 1998-99 he made the name stick, running Hibernian out of the First Division as champions and taking the division's player of the year award. He had already won back-to-back Portuguese titles with Porto in 1995 and 1996, becoming the first Trinidadian in the Champions League, then a Portuguese Cup with Boavista, and he closed with 81 caps, 29 goals and a place at the 2006 World Cup. First Division title with Portsmouth in 2003, Premier League runner-up twice with Newcastle, FA Cup finals in 1998 and 2006, 26 caps, and the first of the 2006 squad into his country's Sporting Hall of Fame. 82 Stern John Nottingham Forest, Birmingham CityColumbus Crew gave him his first MLS season in 1998 and he answered with 26 goals in 27 games, three hat-tricks among them, the first player in the league to manage that in one year, and he took the Golden Boot. Seventy goals in 115 caps stand as the Trinidad and Tobago record, alongside Caribbean Cup wins in 1996, 1999 and 2001, all three games at the 2006 World Cup, and a Championship title with Sunderland. 81 Kenwyne Jones W Connection, SouthamptonStoke were a goal down in the 2011 FA Cup final when Jones got the clearest sight of goal in the whole match at Wembley on 14 May, and Joe Hart pushed it away. He gave Trinidad and Tobago 91 caps and 23 goals, was part of the 2006 World Cup squad and took the Chaconia Medal, cost Stoke a club record £8 million, shared their scoring lead in 2010-11, and won the Championship on loan at Bournemouth. 78 Carlos Edwards Wrexham A.F.C., Luton TownA crowd of 44,448, Sunderland's biggest of the season, saw Edwards score in the 80th minute to beat Burnley 3-2 on 27 April 2007 and send the club back to the Premier League. Championship title that season, Football League Trophy with Wrexham in 2005, Caribbean Cup wins in 1999 and 2001, every minute of Trinidad and Tobago's three games at the 2006 World Cup and 92 caps across 18 years. 7 DL 78 Dennis Lawrence Wrexham A.F.C., Swansea City A.F.C.In Riffa on 16 November 2005, with Trinidad and Tobago 90 minutes from a first World Cup, the 6ft 7in defender scored the only goal of the night against Bahrain in the 49th minute. Every minute of the 2006 finals in Germany followed, including the goalless draw with Sweden, along with the 2001 Caribbean Cup and its MVP award, the Football League Trophy with Wrexham in 2005, and 89 caps. 8 JS 78 Jason Scotland St Johnstone, Swansea City A.F.C.Twenty-four goals in League One in 2007-08 made him the division's top scorer and carried Swansea up as champions, one half of a two-season stay that brought 45 goals in 90 appearances. Two PFA Team of the Year selections followed, for 2007-08 and 2008-09, after a Scottish First Division golden boot with St Johnstone in 2005-06, and for Trinidad and Tobago he took 41 caps, eight goals and a place in the 2006 World Cup squad. 9 MA 78 Marvin Andrews Raith Rovers, LivingstonAndrews tore a cruciate ligament in his first season at Rangers, turned down the operation, missed one League Cup tie and was back the next week, and Ibrox took to playing "I'm a Believer" whenever he won man of the match. Scottish Premier League and League Cup double in 2005, the League Cup with Livingston in 2004, 101 caps for Trinidad and Tobago, and a 2006 World Cup the knee finally cost him. CB2004–06

10 AD 77 Arnold Dwarika East Fife, GuangzhouThe 1999 Trinidad and Tobago Pro League season brought him 45 goals and the Golden Boot, and the Caribbean named him its Footballer of the Year. Trinidad and Tobago Footballer of the Year in 1998, 1999 and 2001, a place in the 2000 Gold Cup All-Star team, 28 goals in 73 caps, the 2006 Pro League title with Joe Public, and two Caribbean club championships. 11 JN 77 Jerren Nixon Dundee United, FC ZürichOn 21 May 1994, seven minutes from the end of the Scottish Cup final, Dundee United sent on their young Trinidadian winger to help close out a 1-0 win over Rangers. That Scottish Cup sat alongside eight years in Switzerland with Zürich, Yverdon and St Gallen, a TT Pro League title with North East Stars in 2004 with the golden boot and player of the year, MVP at the 1997 Caribbean Championship, and 38 caps with 11 goals. 12 KJ 77 Kelvin Jack San Juan Jabloteh, DundeeTen days after a calf strain in the Dortmund warm-up cost him Trinidad and Tobago's first World Cup match, Jack finally got his tournament in Kaiserslautern on 20 June 2006, a 2-0 defeat to Paraguay that turned out to be his last cap. Leo Beenhakker's first-choice goalkeeper through the 2006 qualifying campaign, 33 caps between 1997 and 2006, a 2005 Gold Cup squad place, and the Chaconia Medal in gold for 2006. GK1997–2006

13 AE 76 Angus Eve Joe Public, Defence ForceHe won 117 caps for Trinidad and Tobago between 1994 and 2005, a national record that still stands, and retired when the 2006 World Cup squad was named without him. Four Caribbean Cups in 1994, 1995, 1999 and 2001, 34 international goals, a season in England with Chester City, and later the head coach's job with Trinidad and Tobago from 2021 to 2024. 14 AJ 76 Avery John Bohemian, Longford TownDortmund, 10 June 2006: a minute into the second half of Trinidad and Tobago's first World Cup match, John collected a second yellow, and the ten men left behind held Sweden to 0-0. The suspension cost him the England game, but the 2006 World Cup and its Chaconia Medal headline a career of 65 caps, Gold Cups in 1998, 2002 and 2005, and four seasons at New England, who won the 2007 US Open Cup while he was there. 15 CB 76 Chris Birchall Port Vale, Coventry CityAsked in Port of Spain why he qualified for Trinidad and Tobago, Birchall answered "me mum", and on 12 November 2005 he hit the equaliser from outside the box, four minutes after Bahrain had gone ahead in the play-off first leg. That goal led to a first World Cup, and he added MLS Cup 2011 and two Supporters' Shields with LA Galaxy, promotion with Port Vale in 2013, and 44 caps. CDM2005–13

16 CG 76 Cornell Glen A.D. Sanjoanense, Morvant Caledonia UnitedOn 17 March 2004 he put three past Chicago Fire in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, a night that turned a San Juan Jabloteh forward into an export. Glen played all three group games at the 2006 World Cup, T&T's first, won consecutive Pro League titles with Jabloteh, shared the I-League golden boot in 2013-14, lifted the Federation Cup with Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru, and finished on 24 goals in 72 caps. 17 DN 76 David Nakhid K.S.V. Waregem, Grasshopper Club ZürichZürich in 1992, Beirut in 1995: Nakhid built a career in places Caribbean footballers simply did not go, 41 league games for Grasshopper and two spells with Al-Ansar. He won the Swiss Cup in 1994 and two Lebanese titles during Al-Ansar's world-record run of eleven in a row, took 35 caps and eight goals for Trinidad between 1992 and 2005, and played three Gold Cups. 18 JJ 76 Joevin Jones W Connection, Helsingin JalkapalloklubiA corner he swung in on 15 July 2015 found Yohance Marshall's head for the goal that completed a 4-4 draw with Mexico and sent Trinidad and Tobago into the quarter-finals as group winners. Two MLS Cups with Seattle in 2016 and 2019, a Finnish championship on loan at HJK, two TT Pro League titles at W Connection, 44 games in the 2. Bundesliga for Darmstadt, and 103 caps with 12 goals. 76 Kevin Molino San Juan Jabloteh, Ma Pau SCTwenty goals in the 2014 USL Pro season set a league record and made him the division's MVP for the second time, all of it before three cruciate ligament tears rearranged his career. Molino won the MLS Cup with Columbus in 2023, took two USL Pro Cups with Orlando City in 2011 and 2013, added the Trinidad and Tobago league title with Defence Force in 2023-24, and has 25 goals in 65 caps. 76 Khaleem Hyland San Juan Jabloteh, S.V. Zulte WaregemOn 9 March 2013 Hyland set up Bennard Kumordzi's goal as Genk beat Cercle Brugge 2-0 to lift the Belgian Cup. That medal sits alongside 94 caps for Trinidad and Tobago and five international goals, the captain's armband at the 2019 Gold Cup, and a place at the 2009 Under-20 World Cup while still a teenager. Sambenedettese Calcio, YokohamaHe scored twice, in the 49th and 68th minutes, as Trinidad and Tobago put eleven past Antigua and Barbuda on 10 November 1972, a night when Steve David and Sammy Llewellyn both helped themselves to hat-tricks. Part of the squad for the 1974 World Cup qualifying campaign that turned on a night in Port-au-Prince, where four goals were ruled out against Haiti and the referee was later banned for life, still picked nine years on for the 1981 CONCACAF qualifiers. 22 AG 75 Ataulla Guerra San Juan Jabloteh, Morvant Caledonia UnitedCharleston got the best years, 26 goals in 90 games for the Battery between 2016 and 2019 from a 1.90-metre midfielder out of Laventille who was already 28 when he arrived in South Carolina. He won the CFU Club Championship with Caledonia AIA in 2012, Pro League titles with San Juan Jabloteh in 2007 and 2008 and with Central FC in 2014-15, played the 2015 Gold Cup, and finished with 8 goals in 47 caps. 75 Brent Sancho Portland Timbers, DundeeDortmund, 10 June 2006: Trinidad played the entire second half a man down and Sancho held the middle of a back line that kept Sweden out for the country's first World Cup point. He played all three games at that tournament, won 43 caps between 1999 and 2006, took the Chaconia Medal in gold for it, and later served as national Minister of Sport. CB1999–2006

24 CG 75 Cyd Gray Joe Public, United PetrotrinGermany 2006 gave him all three group games, right back against Sweden in the goalless draw that earned Trinidad and Tobago their first World Cup point, then left back against England and Paraguay. Forty-eight caps and the Chaconia Medal in gold for that summer, four Pro League titles at San Juan Jabloteh between 2002 and 2008, the 2003 CFU Club Championship, and two Gold Cups with the senior side in 2002 and 2005. 25 HC 75 Hasely Crawford Crawford never played professional football; he ran the 100 metres, and on the Montreal track in 1976 he won it in 10.06 seconds to give Trinidad and Tobago its first Olympic gold. His honours are athletics ones: Olympic champion in 1976, Commonwealth Games bronze in 1970 and 1978, Pan American silver in 1975, the Trinity Cross in 1978, and the national stadium in Port of Spain, renamed for him in 1996, where the football team plays. 26 KB 75 Kerry Baptiste San Juan Jabloteh, Joe PublicAgainst Mexico in Port of Spain in October 2009, Baptiste scored in a 2-2 World Cup qualifying draw, one of twelve goals he took from 51 caps. His three years at Joe Public brought 69 goals in 92 games, the 2009 Pro League title and Golden Boot, Player of the Year in the same season, and a pair of goals against Martinique at the 2007 Caribbean Cup. 27 LL 75 Leonson Lewis Associação Académica de Coimbra – O.A.F., F.C. FelgueirasTwenty-one goals in thirty-one caps was his final international line, a return built on nights like the 1991 Gold Cup, where he scored against the United States and against Costa Rica. A Caribbean Cup with Trinidad and Tobago in 1992, then a decade in Portugal that brought 42 goals in 120 games for Académica, 25 more for Felgueiras, a spell at Boavista, and 84 goals in 317 club appearances overall. 74 Alvin Jones W Connection, Real MonarchsCouva, 10 October 2017: Jones struck his first international goal from long range at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Trinidad and Tobago beat the United States 2-1, and the Americans missed the World Cup for the first time since 1986. He won the Pro League and the FA Trophy with W Connection in 2013-14, made 68 appearances for Trinidad and Tobago with six goals, and played alongside his brother Joevin. RB1986–2017

29 JW 74 Jan-Michael Williams W Connection, R. White Star BruxellesA goalkeeper headed home against United Petrotrin at the 2007 Pro Bowl, and it was Williams, the first man in his position to score in the competition. Eighty caps for Trinidad and Tobago followed, along with Pro League titles at W Connection and Central FC, Caribbean club championships in 2006, 2015 and 2016, and three Gold Cups between 2007 and 2015. 30 MT 74 Mickey Trotman FC Dallas, Miami FusionThe 101st minute at Qualcomm Stadium on 20 February 2000 belonged to him: a golden goal that beat Costa Rica 2-1 and carried Trinidad and Tobago into the Gold Cup semi-finals. Five goals in 26 caps, one of them on his debut against South Africa in May 1999, six more in a single MLS season with the Dallas Burn in 1998, and a last appearance against Mexico four weeks before a car crash killed him at 26. 31 RA 74 Radanfah Abu Bakr R.O.C. de Charleroi-Marchienne, FC VostokFew defenders have collected stamps like his: Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Indonesia and India between 2013 and 2020, with a Swansea City loan in 2009 that brought no first-team minutes. Abu Bakr won the 2012 CFU Club Championship with Caledonia AIA, scoring in the shootout that decided the final, took the Lithuanian A Lyga with Sūduva in 2017, and played the 2013 and 2015 Gold Cups across 36 caps. 32 KT 73 Keyeno Thomas Joe Public, Colorado RapidsColorado Rapids took him out of Joe Public in 2000, and Thomas spent the next decade as a fixture in the Trinidad back line, 72 caps and three goals between 1998 and 2009. 33 MH 72 Makan Hislop United Petrotrin, South Carolina Gamecocks men's soccerTen days after his sixteenth birthday he was in Trinidad and Tobago's squad for the U-17 World Championship they hosted in September 2001, a tournament the hosts left pointless after losing 6-2 to Brazil. Thirty-three senior caps between 2007 and 2010, 145 appearances and 16 goals for United Petrotrin, four seasons at South Carolina where he made the All-Conference USA team, and a place in the 2008 Caribbean Cup squad.
