Hasely Crawford

Crawford never played professional football; he ran the 100 metres, and on the Montreal track in 1976 he won it in 10.06 seconds to give Trinidad and Tobago its first Olympic gold. His honours are athletics ones: Olympic champion in 1976, Commonwealth Games bronze in 1970 and 1978, Pan American silver in 1975, the Trinity Cross in 1978, and the national stadium in Port of Spain, renamed for him in 1996, where the football team plays.
