Twenty-four goals in League One in 2007-08 made him the division's top scorer and carried Swansea up as champions, one half of a two-season stay that brought 45 goals in 90 appearances. Two PFA Team of the Year selections followed, for 2007-08 and 2008-09, after a Scottish First Division golden boot with St Johnstone in 2005-06, and for Trinidad and Tobago he took 41 caps, eight goals and a place in the 2006 World Cup squad. Easter Road called him the Little Magician, and in 1998-99 he made the name stick, running Hibernian out of the First Division as champions and taking the division's player of the year award. He had already won back-to-back Portuguese titles with Porto in 1995 and 1996, becoming the first Trinidadian in the Champions League, then a Portuguese Cup with Boavista, and he closed with 81 caps, 29 goals and a place at the 2006 World Cup.
