Twenty-four goals in League One in 2007-08 made him the division's top scorer and carried Swansea up as champions, one half of a two-season stay that brought 45 goals in 90 appearances. Two PFA Team of the Year selections followed, for 2007-08 and 2008-09, after a Scottish First Division golden boot with St Johnstone in 2005-06, and for Trinidad and Tobago he took 41 caps, eight goals and a place in the 2006 World Cup squad. Stoke were a goal down in the 2011 FA Cup final when Jones got the clearest sight of goal in the whole match at Wembley on 14 May, and Joe Hart pushed it away. He gave Trinidad and Tobago 91 caps and 23 goals, was part of the 2006 World Cup squad and took the Chaconia Medal, cost Stoke a club record £8 million, shared their scoring lead in 2010-11, and won the Championship on loan at Bournemouth.
