Stoke were a goal down in the 2011 FA Cup final when Jones got the clearest sight of goal in the whole match at Wembley on 14 May, and Joe Hart pushed it away. He gave Trinidad and Tobago 91 caps and 23 goals, was part of the 2006 World Cup squad and took the Chaconia Medal, cost Stoke a club record £8 million, shared their scoring lead in 2010-11, and won the Championship on loan at Bournemouth. Columbus Crew gave him his first MLS season in 1998 and he answered with 26 goals in 27 games, three hat-tricks among them, the first player in the league to manage that in one year, and he took the Golden Boot. Seventy goals in 115 caps stand as the Trinidad and Tobago record, alongside Caribbean Cup wins in 1996, 1999 and 2001, all three games at the 2006 World Cup, and a Championship title with Sunderland.
