A crowd of 44,448, Sunderland's biggest of the season, saw Edwards score in the 80th minute to beat Burnley 3-2 on 27 April 2007 and send the club back to the Premier League. Easter Road called him the Little Magician, and in 1998-99 he made the name stick, running Hibernian out of the First Division as champions and taking the division's player of the year award.
