La Paz took Argentina apart 6-1 on 1 April 2009 and three of the goals were his, seven years after a season of 49 league goals that IFFHS rated the best in any top division in the world. He left Bolívar with 133 goals, second in the club's history, and added the 2002 Bolivian title, back-to-back Mexican championships with UNAM in the 2004 Clausura and Apertura, and 20 goals in 48 caps for Bolivia. Bolivia closed the 1963 South American Championship by beating Brazil 5-4 in La Paz on 31 March, and the tournament's best player award went to Blacut, who scored once in four appearances at inside forward. That title remains Bolivia's only continental championship; he also won the 1968 Bolivian league with Bolívar, collected 23 caps, and became the first South American signed by Bayern Munich, where injury limited him to friendlies.
