Bolivia closed the 1963 South American Championship by beating Brazil 5-4 in La Paz on 31 March, and the tournament's best player award went to Blacut, who scored once in four appearances at inside forward. That title remains Bolivia's only continental championship; he also won the 1968 Bolivian league with Bolívar, collected 23 caps, and became the first South American signed by Bayern Munich, where injury limited him to friendlies. On 31 March 1963 in Cochabamba, Ugarte scored twice, in the 29th and 69th minutes, as Bolivia beat Brazil 5-4 in the match that settled the South American Championship. That title remains Bolivia's only continental championship, won unbeaten over six matches, and Ugarte reached it on the back of 318 appearances for Bolívar and 45 caps for his country; the stadium in Potosí now carries his name.
