Moreno Martins finished the South American qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup as the continent's leading scorer with 10 goals, and Bolivia still finished outside the play-off places. He is Bolivia's record holder for both caps and goals, with 108 appearances and 31 goals, shared the 2008 Copa Libertadores scoring award with Salvador Cabañas, won the UEFA Cup with Shakhtar Donetsk in 2009 and the Ukrainian league in 2011, and took the Brazilian title with Cruzeiro in 2014. Bolivia closed the 1963 South American Championship by beating Brazil 5-4 in La Paz on 31 March, and the tournament's best player award went to Blacut, who scored once in four appearances at inside forward. That title remains Bolivia's only continental championship; he also won the 1968 Bolivian league with Bolívar, collected 23 caps, and became the first South American signed by Bayern Munich, where injury limited him to friendlies.
