Twice he beat South Korea's goalkeeper in the 2011 Asian Cup third place match on 28 January, a penalty on the stroke of half time and a second eight minutes after the break, and Uzbekistan still went down 3-2. Fourth place in Qatar remains the country's best Asian Cup; he finished on 98 caps and 31 goals, won league titles with Pakhtakor and the Kazakh championship with Aktobe in 2013, and was Uzbek Footballer of the Year in 2002. He won that award a second time in 2011, lifted nine Uzbek league titles and eight cups with Pakhtakor, Bunyodkor and Lokomotiv Tashkent, took the K League with FC Seoul in 2010, and left the national team on 128 caps and 25 goals.
