Bunyodkor signed him in 2007, and in 2008, his first full season, he scored 19 league goals from midfield to finish as the Uzbek top scorer and Asia's Footballer of the Year. He won that award a second time in 2011, lifted nine Uzbek league titles and eight cups with Pakhtakor, Bunyodkor and Lokomotiv Tashkent, took the K League with FC Seoul in 2010, and left the national team on 128 caps and 25 goals.
