Easter Road called him the Little Magician, and in 1998-99 he made the name stick, running Hibernian out of the First Division as champions and taking the division's player of the year award. He had already won back-to-back Portuguese titles with Porto in 1995 and 1996, becoming the first Trinidadian in the Champions League, then a Portuguese Cup with Boavista, and he closed with 81 caps, 29 goals and a place at the 2006 World Cup.
