Al Sadd's terraces called him Khalfaninho, and in November 2006, aged eighteen, he became the first Qatari named AFC Player of the Year, months before a knee injury against Bahrain took a year out of him. Ibrahim won gold at the 2006 Asian Games, lifted the 2011 AFC Champions League with Al Sadd, and left the club as its record league scorer with 78 goals in 298 appearances. Born in Paysandú and naturalised in 2006, Soria won gold at the 2006 Asian Games, took four league titles across Al-Gharafa, Lekhwiya and Al-Rayyan, scored 104 goals in 152 league games for Qatar SC and finished with 39 in 124 caps for Qatar.
