Twenty-two goals in twelve matches in 1985-86 is why they called him The Fox, and why the Qatari league has named its top scorer award after him since 2013-14. Muftah scored 48 goals in 84 internationals and held Qatar's scoring record until 2023, finished as the league's leading marksman seven times, won the Arabian Golden Boot twice, and took 160 goals from 216 games for Al-Rayyan. Born in Paysandú and naturalised in 2006, Soria won gold at the 2006 Asian Games, took four league titles across Al-Gharafa, Lekhwiya and Al-Rayyan, scored 104 goals in 152 league games for Qatar SC and finished with 39 in 124 caps for Qatar.
