Jordan conceded three penalties in the Asian Cup final on 10 February 2024 and Afif scored all of them, a hat-trick from the spot that kept the title in Qatar. Afif won that tournament's Golden Boot with eight goals and its Best Player award, took AFC Player of the Year in both 2019 and 2023, set a tournament record of ten assists at the 2019 Asian Cup, and has six Qatar Stars League titles with Al Sadd. Al Sadd's terraces called him Khalfaninho, and in November 2006, aged eighteen, he became the first Qatari named AFC Player of the Year, months before a knee injury against Bahrain took a year out of him. Ibrahim won gold at the 2006 Asian Games, lifted the 2011 AFC Champions League with Al Sadd, and left the club as its record league scorer with 78 goals in 298 appearances.
