That remains a national first; he was in the Palestine squads at the 2015 and 2019 Asian Cups, took 17 caps and three goals, and played 347 club games through Slovenia's top flight plus spells in Qatar, Thailand and Austria.

He won the 2018 Bangabandhu Cup in Bangladesh, scoring against Tajikistan in Sylhet along the way, played at the 2019 Asian Cup, and left the national team with ten goals in 36 caps.
