The free kick that carried Palestine to their first Asian Cup came in the 59th minute in Malé on 30 May 2014, and it was the only goal of the Challenge Cup final against the Philippines. That remains a national first; he was in the Palestine squads at the 2015 and 2019 Asian Cups, took 17 caps and three goals, and played 347 club games through Slovenia's top flight plus spells in Qatar, Thailand and Austria.
