When Conmebol picked its team of the 2024 Copa América, Johnston was the only player on the list who did not come from South America, chosen after Canada beat Venezuela on penalties and went out to Argentina in the semi-final. At Celtic he won a domestic treble within six months of arriving in January 2023 and now has four Scottish Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups. Canada reached the 2000 Gold Cup knockouts on a coin toss, then Forrest pushed away a first-half penalty in the 1-0 semi-final against Trinidad and Tobago and kept a clean sheet three days later as Colombia were beaten 2-0 in the Los Angeles Coliseum final. He was named the tournament's most valuable player of Canada's only Gold Cup, and finished with 61 caps and 263 games in goal for Ipswich Town.
