In the 71st minute against Morocco on 1 December 2022, Hutchinson, at 39 the oldest outfield player in Qatar, met a corner and saw his header come off the crossbar and drop just short of the line. He retired with 104 caps, a Canadian men's record, six Canadian Player of the Year awards, four Danish titles at Copenhagen, three Süper Lig titles at Beşiktaş and a KNVB Cup at PSV. Canada reached the 2000 Gold Cup knockouts on a coin toss, then Forrest pushed away a first-half penalty in the 1-0 semi-final against Trinidad and Tobago and kept a clean sheet three days later as Colombia were beaten 2-0 in the Los Angeles Coliseum final. He was named the tournament's most valuable player of Canada's only Gold Cup, and finished with 61 caps and 263 games in goal for Ipswich Town.
