Sixty-eight seconds into Canada's game against Croatia on 27 November 2022, he rose to Tajon Buchanan's cross and headed in the first goal his country had ever scored at a men's World Cup. With Bayern he has won the 2020 Champions League and the Club World Cup and Super Cup that followed it, seven Bundesliga titles and three DFB-Pokals; at sixteen he had already taken the Golden Boot at the 2017 Gold Cup. Canada reached the 2000 Gold Cup knockouts on a coin toss, then Forrest pushed away a first-half penalty in the 1-0 semi-final against Trinidad and Tobago and kept a clean sheet three days later as Colombia were beaten 2-0 in the Los Angeles Coliseum final. He was named the tournament's most valuable player of Canada's only Gold Cup, and finished with 61 caps and 263 games in goal for Ipswich Town.
