Snow was falling in Changzhou on 27 January 2018, the U-23 final level at 1-1, when a Khamdamov corner found Andrey Sidorov in the 120th minute and Khaydarov's Uzbekistan side had the trophy. The AFC U-23 Championship that night was Uzbekistan's first, and he added the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup, league and cup doubles with Pakhtakor in 2006 and 2007, and Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2023 after a defender's career at Traktor Tashkent.
