With ten minutes left of the 2011 Copa América quarter final against Chile in San Juan on 17 July, he scored the goal that made it 2-1 and put Venezuela into their first semi final. That run ended in fourth place, still Venezuela's high water mark, and he added 70 caps, the Venezuelan championship with Caracas in 2010, the 2009 Copa Venezuela, and selection in the Ligue 2 team of the season with Nantes in 2013.
