In Doha on 6 September 2016 the 1.93m centre-back put Uzbekistan ahead against Qatar, the second of only two international goals he scored and the one that came in World Cup qualifying. Five Uzbek league titles and two cups came with Pakhtakor, where he made 149 league appearances and scored 15, and he won 40 caps between 2013 and 2020, playing at the 2015 and 2019 Asian Cups either side of two loan spells at Beijing Guoan.
