Ghana arrived in Soweto for the 1996 semi-final and Moshoeu scored in the 22nd minute and again in the 87th, the two ends of a 3-0 win. Shoes came out of that tournament an Africa Cup of Nations winner and its second top scorer on four goals, later won two league titles with Kaizer Chiefs, played 73 times for South Africa, and became the oldest scorer in PSL history at 41.
