Few expected the call at his age, but Honduras named him for the 1981 CONCACAF Championship and he scored in the 4-0 win over Haiti. Honduras won that tournament and their first World Cup place with it; he had already taken the 1972 CONCACAF Champions' Cup and two Liga Nacional titles at Olimpia, and spent five years in Spain with Mallorca and Alavés. Career record: 11 caps and 3 goals for Honduras; club career at Atlético Indio, RCD Mallorca, Deportivo Alavés.
