Sandro Wieser's knee-high challenge in a league match against Aarau on 9 November 2014 tore Yapi Yapo's cruciate ligament, meniscus and kneecap tendon at once, and at 32 he came back anyway and scored in a 3-3 draw with Thun. He had been a Nations Cup runner-up in 2006 and went to that summer's World Cup, then won three straight Swiss titles with Basel from 2011, the Swiss Cup in 2012 and another with Zürich in 2016.
