Uzbekistan took him to five Asian Cups, the first in China in 2004 and the last in the Emirates in 2019, fifteen years and 106 caps between the two. Ten Uzbek league titles and ten Uzbek Cups make him the most decorated Uzbek footballer at club level, six of each with Pakhtakor, four more leagues with Bunyodkor, and gold with the under-21s at the 2003 Afro-Asian Games. Eight goals in seven matches at the 1994 Hiroshima Asian Games, two against Saudi Arabia on 1 October and two against Malaysia two days later, made him both top scorer and best player of the tournament. Uzbekistan took the gold medal there, beating China 4-2 in the final; he scored 20 in 31 caps for his country and 121 for Pakhtakor, and won league titles in Malaysia in 1995, Uzbekistan in 1998 and India in 2000.
