Born Naby Laye Moussa Camara and known to everyone as Papa, he was a dribbler who gave his whole career to Hafia and left the Conakry club with 532 appearances and 142 goals. He reached five African Cup of Champions Clubs finals and won three of them, in 1972, 1975 and 1977, and finished runner-up with Guinea at the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations, still the country's best showing. Career record: 42 caps and 6 goals for Guinea; club career at Hafia Football Club.

Conakry gave his name to a stadium in Nongo in 2021, four decades after he left Hafia, where he played from 1965 to 1981 and scored against Ethiopia at the 1976 Cup of Nations. Three African Champions Cups with Hafia, in 1972, 1975 and 1977, head his record, with a place in the 1976 Cup of Nations team of the tournament, third place in the 1972 African Footballer of the Year vote, and 36 caps for Guinea. Career record: 36 caps and 12 goals for Guinea; club career at Hafia Football Club.
