He scored in both legs of the 1972 African Cup of Champions Clubs final, on 35 minutes in Conakry and 67 in Kampala, as Hafia beat Simba 7-4 to become the first Guinean club to win Africa. African Footballer of the Year in 1972, still Guinea's only winner, he added Champions Cups in 1975 and 1977 and went unbeaten through the 1976 Cup of Nations, where Guinea lost the title to Morocco by a single point. Conakry gave his name to a stadium in Nongo in 2021, four decades after he left Hafia, where he played from 1965 to 1981 and scored against Ethiopia at the 1976 Cup of Nations. Three African Champions Cups with Hafia, in 1972, 1975 and 1977, head his record, with a place in the 1976 Cup of Nations team of the tournament, third place in the 1972 African Footballer of the Year vote, and 36 caps for Guinea.
