The 2001 MLS Cup went to golden goal, and in the 96th minute he shifted the ball onto his right foot and curled it off the far post and in, winning San Jose the title and the match's MVP award. Canada's 2000 Gold Cup belongs to him too, along with four MLS Cups, the 2011 MVP award and Golden Boot, a second MLS Cup MVP in 2007, and 22 goals in 81 caps. Beyond that title came Gold Cup bronze in 2002, Canadian player of the year the same season, Wigan's Second Division championship in 2003, and 49 caps, most of them as captain between 1999 and 2004.
