He finished the 1994 Copa Libertadores as its top scorer with seven goals for Minervén of El Callao, a Venezuelan side that went out only in the quarter-finals to Olimpia. Venezuela had capped El Mago at 17 in May 1989, and from there came league titles with Mineros de Guayana and Caracas, 34 caps and three goals, a Copa América strike against Uruguay in 1993, and a season in Belgium with Standard Liège. Career record: 34 caps and 3 goals for Venezuela; club career at K. Boom, Millonarios, Internacional de Bogotá.
