Twente's 3-3 draw with Tottenham on 7 December 2010 carried a small piece of history, because his goal was the first scored by a Venezuelan in the Champions League. He won the KNVB Cup with Twente in 2011 and two Johan Cruijff Shields, scored in the final match of 2018/19 that took Espanyol back into Europe after twelve years, played 96 times for Venezuela and was part of the side that finished fourth at the 2011 Copa América.
