He was eighteen when Venezuela handed him a debut against Argentina on 1 June 2011, and weeks later he was in the squad that reached the semi-finals of the Copa América, the country's best run at the tournament. Seventy-two caps followed across four continental tournaments, along with the Venezuelan championship and Copa Venezuela with Caracas in 2009 and 2010 and the Armenian title with Pyunik in 2022.
