On 16 October 1994 in Hiroshima he was in the Uzbekistan side that beat China 4-2 for Asian Games gold, seven wins from seven matches and the independent country's first major football title. The Russian championship came with Rubin Kazan in 2008 at the end of eight seasons there, after four Uzbek league titles with Neftchi Farg'ona between 1992 and 1995 and 65 caps with seven goals.
