A 70-yard run at the Etihad on 30 August 2014 still gets replayed in Stoke, Diouf carrying the ball from deep and slotting past Joe Hart for the only goal against Manchester City. Ten goals in 47 Senegal caps carried him to the Cup of Nations in 2015 and 2017 and the 2018 World Cup, and a League Cup medal came from Manchester United's 2010 final, watched from the bench.
