Only one Paraguayan has been named in four World Cup squads, and he did it across twelve years, from France in 1998 to South Africa in 2010, arriving at the last of them aged 35. A hundred caps came with them, plus four Paraguayan championships with Olimpia between 1995 and 1999, a fifth with Nacional in the 2009 Clausura, and the 2001 Verano title with Santos Laguna in Mexico, where he played 191 matches.
