Emmanuel Okala

Six foot six in the Rangers goal, Okala was nicknamed Iroko after the forest's tallest tree, and his saves against AS Police of Senegal in the Cup Winners' Cup quarter-final carried Enugu towards their first African trophy. In 1978 he became the first goalkeeper voted African Footballer of the Year, and he collected a winner's medal at the 1980 Nations Cup in Lagos, that Cup Winners' Cup with Rangers in 1977, All-Africa Games gold in 1973 and 59 Nigeria caps.
