He played eighteen seasons and 551 matches for Cruz Azul without ever signing for another club, a record that stood there for thirty years. Four league titles came in that time, in 1972-73, 1973-74, 1978-79 and 1979-80, along with the 1973-74 Campeón de Campeones, three straight selections as the league's best right-back from 1979 to 1981, and 14 caps for Mexico including the 1978 World Cup meeting with Poland.
