A bicycle kick from García levelled the World Cup qualifier against the United States at the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano on 6 February 2013, four minutes after Clint Dempsey had put the visitors ahead, and Honduras won it 2-1. He went to the 2014 World Cup, played three Gold Cups, won 39 caps, and moved from Olimpia to Wigan Athletic in 2013 before he was diagnosed with leukaemia in February 2015 and died in January 2018, aged 29.
