The fifth Chilean penalty at the Mineirão on 28 June 2014 came off Jara's boot and off the post, and Brazil went through to the quarter-finals. Jara collected the Copa América in 2015 and the Centenario a year later, won three Chilean league titles with Colo-Colo and the 2017 Clausura with Universidad de Chile, and played over 100 times for his country.
