On 5 October 2019 at the Monumental, in the 65th minute of a Superclásico against Universidad de Chile, he pushed a left-foot shot past Fernando De Paul for his 216th league goal and passed Chamaco Valdés; Colo-Colo won 3-2. He retired on 221 Primera División goals, the most anyone has scored in Chile, having led the division's scoring five times and won four league titles, two Copa Chile and two Supercopa with Colo-Colo, plus 42 caps.
