Blooming got 146 league goals out of him in the 1980s, and the crowd in Santa Cruz called him Pinocho. Top scorer of the 1985 Copa Libertadores with eleven goals, he was a Bolivian champion with Blooming in 1984 and, after taking citizenship, won five caps for the country he had adopted.
