Inside three minutes of the 2015 Asian Cup semi-final in Newcastle, he headed Massimo Luongo's corner in at the far post to start a 2-0 win over the United Arab Emirates. Four days later he was man of the match in the final as Australia beat South Korea to win the Asian Cup, and made the team of the tournament; before that came an A-League double with Central Coast Mariners and Oceania Footballer of the Year in 2013.
