Two months after Milan paid Lecce 1.2 million euros for him, he rose in Turin on 20 March 2012 and headed the equaliser past Juventus in the Coppa Italia semi-final, his first goal for the club. A Swiss title with Basel in 2004-05 sits at the top of his honours; for Algeria he collected 36 caps, travelled to the World Cups of 2010 and 2014, and scored once, against Malawi in October 2014.
