Four goals arrived on his Jamaica debut in 2004, a start no other Jamaican has managed, and he was still in the side nine years later. His 35 goals in 75 caps remain the Jamaican record, and he won three Caribbean Cups, in 2005, 2008 and 2010, scoring both goals in the 2008 final against Grenada, plus the Swedish Cup with Helsingborg and the Norwegian Cup with Vålerenga. Lyon, 26 June 1998: Tappa Whitmore scored in the 39th minute and again in the 54th, and Jamaica beat Japan 2-1 for the only World Cup win in their history. Two Caribbean Cups, in 1998 and 2005, and Caribbean Footballer of the Year in 1998; 120 caps and 23 goals between 1993 and 2004, then 77 games for Hull City. Career record: 105 caps and 24 goals for Jamaica; club career at Montego Bay United, Hull City A.F.C., Tranmere Rovers.
