Between 2002 and 2010 he won 68 caps for the UAE and scored once, the honest arithmetic of a centre back who also spent eleven straight seasons at Al Ahli Dubai. He played at the 2004 and 2007 Asian Cups and the 2002 Asian Games, and his time at Al Ahli covered the league titles of 2005-06 and 2008-09 together with President's Cups in 2002, 2004 and 2008.
