One club held him for a decade, Club Africain from 1987 to 1997, and its peak was the 1991 African Champions Cup, won 7-3 on aggregate against SC Villa of Uganda with a 6-2 night in Tunis. That side also took the 1992 Afro-Asian Club Cup and the 1995 Arab Cup Winners' Cup, three Tunisian championships in 1990, 1992 and 1996 and the 1992 Tunisian Cup; he won 50 caps for Tunisia, and Adel Sellimi is his brother.
