A tight angle in the 89th minute against Nigeria on 6 September 2009 brought the goal that rescued a 2-2 draw in World Cup qualifying, one of ten he scored in 45 games for Tunisia. The 2011 treble with Espérance de Tunis, league, cup and CAF Champions League, made him African-based Player of the Year that season, and he added the 2011 African Nations Championship with Tunisia, the Arab Golden Ball and five Tunisian titles.
